Folded Vase, Blue & Spruce

Spruce, ridgelines, sky — the landscape around the studio, built into the clay rather than painted onto it. Folded to a vase.

The pattern is a block of coloured clay, layered by hand and cut open, so it runs through the wall and continues inside. The neck is folded while the clay is still soft; the seam where the two edges meet is left visible. It is completly watertight.
