Folded Cup, Fine Line

A handleless cup built from a single slab of layered clay, folded once and closed at the seam. Fine black lines run horizontally around the wall, gathering into a single heavy band near the rim; at the base they turn and fan out from the foot.

The fold is left visible. It's where the slab met itself, and it tells you the cup was built rather than thrown — the pattern shifts slightly across the join, because the lines were never meant to line up.

Sized for tea, coffee or an evening whisky. Comfortable in one hand.

Only a small number exist. Each comes from its own block, so the banding shifts slightly from cup to cup — close enough to belong together, no two identical.
