Marbled Bowl, Black & White

Black and white stoneware, layered and folded into a single block, then formed by hand. The marbling runs through the full thickness of the wall and continues over the rim to the outside — nothing is applied to the surface. Tiny specks of blue porcelain are worked into the body.

The bowl is left unglazed and sanded instead. Fired to 1240 °C, the clay vitrifies completely, so the piece is fully watertight without a glaze — matte and open to the touch, but sealed.
